Lawn Bowls Buyer? Tips Page 2
LAWN BOWLS REVIEW (revised 2012)
Fact is; My thoughts as presented throughout are still pertinent - but such information becomes somewhat obsolete when NEW bowls are no longer available to be sold.

Means I have to find other ways to reward you for spending time here.
So: What's happening right now?
I am truly excited by one particular mind blowing experience

       THIS is Happening . . .

The Electronic Smoking Alternative

Tips from Last Year...
Mystifies me that lawn bowls Auction buyers are prepared to pile up bids on 6 year old bowls, 4 year old bowls, 8 year old bowls - as though THIS model, or THAT brand, has some magical properties built in to it - and you just gotta win the auction!
Sellers get their money back on these ones!
Just watched the bidding on a 6 year old model that doesn't behave anything like the more recently released all-the-rage-bowl-of-the-same-name; $365 plus (?) and still days to go ...
Good luck to that owner. Well Done Mate!
22 bids and 3 hours to go on another set that's had 2 years of use. $486 ALREADY!

What???

C'mon guys. Use your heads.
We're bowlers. We know how many beans make Five.
NEW, I've been supplying arguably the best bowls at the best prices in the country! Do the best for yourself...

BOWL'S DRAW LINES :

As a DREAMLINE bowler myself, it's always been evident to me that there's nothing much between my bowls' "bias" and someone else's VECTORS.
And my playing partner (new REDLINE) often says to others:
"It's easy. From up the other end I just look at where Col's aiming and I follow that!" (He doesn't actually; Dave just thinks he does...)

For which reason, I imagine there'd be many unsubstantiated claims - some deliberate, some just hype, some mistaken, about what equipment is good, better or superior in bowling ...and what ISN'T.
Dave should know! He's been playing 30 years - me just six.
A former champion takes the "SAME GRASS" as me!
Using a different brand, decidedly NARROWER bowl than mine?

How's that work? And Why?
It's because a lot has to do with what a bowler THINKS rather than what is REAL.
A few of us believe that Dave does nothing like what he claims he's doing.
But HE is comfortable with that notion and that's fine with me.

And You're right in thinking that Greenmaster Power, Henselite Dreamline and Thomas Taylor Vector VS all follow a similar line ... because on one particlar comparison chart NO distinction is made between the three.

DRAWLINE CHARTS:

Showing drawlines for most popular lawn bowls models, they're represented in this "mat to jack" diagram as sharing an absolutely identical path!

It's a pretty good Chart actually ... seems to give an accurate picture.
Whether oversimplified I can't be sure, but it reinforces what always struck me as logical; For any model produced by a competitor, each brand would likely have an equivalent model in their range.

A bowls manufacturer's success in the marketplace is a matter of convincing the lawn bowls buyer that Their product is "superior quality", "newer", "more popular" or (typical of the marketing Hype) "used by today's recognised champions" ... usually As Many As They Can Name in a full page advert in whatever bowls publication it is you're reading at the time.

Next page, you'll see another maker making similar claims. Another page and hey Look - a new scientifically developed just released Super Bowl : and Now you're going to get Better control in the wind and sweeter results at the Head because its more kindly trajectory gives you a better chance of drawing Around this or that and You won't feel so fatigued and blah blah Dee blah ...
